FAQAnswers to Commonly Asked Questions |
HOW WILL WE CONNECT VOLUNTEERS TO RESIDENTS?Typically, we send a list of volunteers along with their phone numbers, hobbies, and availability to the nursing home. We then request that the nursing home gives us their general availability for connecting residents with volunteers. Based on interests and availability, volunteers and residents are matched through the program. Depending on the preferences of the nursing home, the nursing home staff or our volunteers can initiate the calls on pre-arranged days and times. |
HOW WILL VOLUNTEERS BE SCREENED AND TRAINED?Volunteers will fill out the application found within the “Get Involved” section of our website. Volunteers will then undergo an interview process to ensure that they are suitable. Once volunteers have passed the screening process, they will receive a volunteer orientation to prepare for interacting with residents. We also understand that some nursing homes have additional paperwork for volunteers, so we would be happy to have our volunteers fill out any necessary paperwork prior to connecting with residents. |
COULD YOU PROVIDE GREATER DETAILS REGARDING HOW MEETINGS WILL OCCUR?In regards to the form of communication, we typically use phone calls or facetime. We are also happy to accommodate any video conferencing platform that your facility may prefer, so if you have a method of communication other than phone calls or facetime, we can also work out the associated logistics. |
